Welcome to our Practice
Our modern RCVS Accredited Veterinary Hospital practice in Banbury can trace its origins back to the 1880s.
Today our friendly and enthusiastic team of over 50 staff give the pets and animals entrusted to us the very highest standard of veterinary care from our main Veterinary Hospital, Branch locations and Farm and Equine Service.
Independent Vets
Our practice is truly independent. It is owned by members of our team who live, work and are involved in our local community. We are the only practice in the Banbury area that is not part of large group, corporate business or nationwide network.
Professional Service
We aim to treat our clients fairly and develop a high level of trust. We give our clients time with our professional team. We aim to communicate effectively by listening, clearly explaining the available options for veterinary care and keeping our clients informed. In consultation with our clients we agree the most suitable preventative care, diagnostic and treatment pathways for their pets and large animals. Find out more »
Experienced Team
We have a very experienced team many of whom have worked with us for a long time. Members of our team have recognised Post Graduate qualifications and have developed expertise in particular disciplines e.g. surgery, orthopaedics, internal medicine. We encourage and support all our staff to develop their skills and expertise.
Local Out of Hours Service – 24/7
Our team provide our clients with a complete emergency veterinary service – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from our West Bar Hospital site. We have laboratory, imaging facilities, nursing, medical and surgical capabilities available 24 hours a day. Members of our own team operate this service. We do not use an external out of hours service provider.
Easy Access and Parking
We have 2 private car parks for our clients at the back of our surgery at West Bar.
To access our private car parks, continue travelling along West Bar Street from the Banbury Cross direction and turn left into Beargarden Road. After approximately 50 metres turn left again into a small lane (signposted Cork Lane (Private Road)). A little way along this lane you will find the our large car parks at the back of our Hospital.
If you are travelling by car you may also be able to park on West Bar right outside the practice but this is now subject to Council parking regulations.
Don’t take our word for it!
We have been a member of the voluntary Practice Standards Scheme since its inception in 2005. This scheme is operated by our professional regulator the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) on behalf of the public to encourage and ensure high standards are maintained in member practices.
As part of the Practice Standards Scheme we are regularly audited by the RCVS.
A recent RCVS Practice Standards report on our practice stated :
“The excellent entrance, reception and waiting area reflects well on the standards of work throughout the practice. Both the level of equipment and clinical facilities are of the highest standard enabling a caring and conscientious team to work to the very high standards they desire. Detailed and thorough clinical auditing over many years provides significant information and demonstrate high standards are achieved and maintained.”
